Mary has extensive experience in Nursing and Healthcare management, systems and management consulting and information systems analysis. She has been instrumental in organizing and managing system implementation projects since 1981. Her dynamic approach to project management promotes the synergies needed for successful projects. As one of the founding partners of New West Consulting, Mary plays a key role in developing and expanding a strong consulting organization.
As the consulting program director for a major healthcare software company she lead a team of executive level consultants. These consultants provided project management and consulting support to hospitals and medical centers worldwide. Projects ranged in size from single hospitals to large multi-site corporate organizations.
Mary has developed and maintains strong relationships with all the major software vendors. This relationship allows New West to act as the vendor expert in any facility and gives us the ability to act as the vendor representative or hospital consultant on site while maintaining focus on the client.
Barry is skilled in managing systems development and implementation, conference and seminar programs, executive level consulting, multi-disciplinary project management, public speaking and professional team building.
He has a vast background in progressive Surgical Services management, including development of two ambulatory centers and an Open Heart program. He implemented one of the first operating room management systems in a large metropolitan medical center utilizing its capabilities for budgeting and managing his department. Since founding New West with Mary, he has provided project management and implementation services to multiple facility and major acute care centers.
As Manager of Implementation Services and Interfaces a major healthcare software development company, his departments provided implementation support and interface development for over 600 clients.
Barry has worked with many customers to develop supply side solutions to their inventory needs. As this area becomes increasingly important to each client, this expertise saves each client dollars in their inventory management.

- Consultant of choice in large university hospital for perioperative software implementation and process change management.
- Managed the enterprise wide restructure and redeployment of a combined patient scheduling and perioperative information system.
- Featured speaker at AORN Informatics 2006, 2007 and 2008.
- Works with sub-contractors as resource for existing projects.
Penny has a long varied background in the healthcare industry including hospital clinical management, project and product development and perioperative information systems.
Penny has worked with major software vendors in their product implementation and assisted in market research for another leading software vendor. Her past work at a major hospital therapeutic bed manufacturer was in product development and marketing.
Since joining New West, Penny has proven to be a key asset for site analysis and project development. She has the clinical skills to understand the operational environment, and the essential listening skills to identify crucial areas to project success.
Penny is our first "go-to" person for questions regarding your projects. She assists with pulling together the appropriate team to get your project done on-time and on-budget.
Penny and Barry are extensively involved with ARRA HITECH and Meaningful Use. Penny participated on the HITECH Advisory Panel which reviewed preliminary requirements and developed high and low-risk criteria with her team for meeting those requirements.
